Our goals for youth ministry include:
- To disciple youth, to train and to equip them to be leaders in their churches and other ministries and mission work.
- To give them confidence and skills to share their faith.
- To provide a safe environment for them to relate to one another as brothers and sisters free from romantic emotional distractions
- To turn their hearts to their parents and to turn the hearts of parents to their youth.
- To partner with parents by encouraging them in their personal walk with the Lord and providing an environment for prayer and accountability.
- To give college age leaders practical experience with youth ministry.
You will find that the youth activities reflect our own conservative Christian worldview. We consider it a real responsibility to provide a learning atmosphere free from the influences that might be found in a similar setting of young adults. We ask that the dress and jewelry which your youth wear to the meetings and activities be conservative and non-distracting; not a reflection of the world but of Jesus Christ. Since many of the fashions of today do not reflect building inward beauty but encourage attention on the body which IS a distraction, we simply ask that your youth’s dress and jewelry be carefully thought through. Our number one focus is to be on Jesus Christ. If the attire of your child becomes the focus of our attention he or she may be asked to examine their motives and adjust their attire. Most of the youth in this group have adopted a non-dating lifestyle, embracing courtship as a godly alternative. Once again, we ask that all youth refrain from coupling up and flirtatious behavior. We encourage the youth to seek God with their whole heart and to keep the Lord number one in their life.
As usual, since this is a family youth ministry we are asking your families to help with special events, activities and cleanup. Please look at the proposed calendar of events and offer to help as you are able and led.
This year our theme is "Discerning the right way in a wrong way world." . We are very excited about this year and are anxious to see what God is desiring to do. Please feel free to call with any questions, we would love to share our hearts and ideas with you.
